sounds pretty good!

I wonder if this is your first full song. Sounds pretty basic but still really good. Considering you're using FL, I am too, so on such an account, I'm adding yours to my favorites to see which one of us has more of a taking to. Also, I was wondering what day you submitted this?

luckystrikes23 responds:

Submitted last night. It was one of my first songs, I lost a bunch in a hard drive wipe a while back, and this was one of the few I was able to keep.

Different but interesting P.O.V.

(Sorry, I commented to the other song first though this one came out first. Opps!) First off, this isn't ambient at all. If you had the background sounds and kicked the sound effects, then yeah it probably would be. If I hadn't kept reminding myself through the song of the title and what it relates to the song, I wouldn't have liked it at all. That being said, it's a very different taste. All in all, I like the direction you went with it. Keep up your style, and you will go far young one. Just...if you're going to do anything mainstream, you're gonna have to make it more...well, easy on the ears mixed with ear candy. Example: Savage Garden - I Want You. Unfortunately I can't give a reason as to why that song other than the first one that popped into mind. blah off topic. Good song! Giving it 5/5 for creativity and 10/10 for the balls to put it online heh

D-A-M-N G-O-O-D!

Not only is it a rather decent song, but..considering it's not professionally done, the vocals lining up with the music is awesome timing. She could probably warm up for a couple of hours beforehand if you redo it (there's moments she sounds nervous, either with timing or an off tone), but otherwise dont change anything about it! If anything, I''ll be waiting for another submission. Keep up the great work!

kiwiaddict responds:

yeah about the shaky voice, i honestly dont know what it is. okay maybe its cause its unprofessionally recorded... if you put on earphones.... it SHOULD sound fine. i think it has to do with the uncompressedness... thanks so much for the comment tho. i really appreciate it.

Different, I'll give you that much

Very confusing. It's kinda nice, but doesnt really serve a purpose. Honestly, I dont think it would fall under any electronica genre. The beat is the only thing that would really allow that, but I'd have to place it under Easy Listening, personally. ...kinda catchy though!

By the by, you submitted this..what, today? And you say uploading takes forever. I've been waiting about 2 or 3 days for my 1st submission to go through. -.- ..still nothing. If you care to look for it, it's The Nimbus Races. It probably wont be out by the end of the weekend though. At least i'm not expecting it

Toddzilla20000 responds:

True enough on the purpose, it's kind of the style I've taken up accidentally in my attempts to comprehend Reason 4 as well as composition. I'd just like to make a form of progressive dance that doesn't sound like freakin deadmau5, though the progressive part is taking time to, uh.. Progress ^_^;;

I managed to go through half of the levels in gunbot before I tried reloading the page, sometimes newgrounds uploaded gets sticky :P I'd gladly check yours out though!

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you found it interesting :)

Well written

It sounds great. Through and through. The change in octive about 2/3 in is an excellent time to do so. Towards the end though, it sounds REALLY classical style. I cant quite place it, but something from the Stravinsky frame. Perhaps something like Beethoven's 5th Symphony? Has just enough of that touch, but it's a brilliant piece! 5/5 10/10!

FightingFire responds:

Thanks! I actually did try to emulate Beethoven's style with the last motif, especially at the C# Ab7 B A arpeggiated chord progression. Great job noticing it!

Sweet sounds

I know the feeling. I had a specific tune(never played in any songs) in my head for around 4 years before I finally got it out. Sadly, it sounded better slower than I wanted it, but hey, whatever works.

This piece though sounds excellent! Bright n cheery, can certainly do some damage. I dont know if anyone else thinks so, or even notices, but it at around 2:30 it kinda feels like it's trying to sing or talk. Terrific blend but could probably use something to spice it up. Perhaps some slightly differing rhythm somewhere, another synth...just a little something extra would benefit it.

Inspirational

I can see it playing out like this...

(with no other audio other than what you're listening to)

In the middle of a shootout, the main characters best friend and/or brother falls two feet beside him. The one that shot him was quickly identified and so he runs after him when there's a slight break in fire.

In pursuit, over fences, through houses and across a busy street, he's running for his life, for revenge, with tears running down his cheeks but that doesnt stop him. He finds the man running into a house and follows promptly. In the house, it's gorgeous with marble flooring and the like. He hears voices around the corner and cautiously approaches. Once he turns the corner, there's the man caught unaware, arguing with his wife who wasn't supposed to be home.

There's some crying and shouting, but still a vengeful look. Smoke pours out from the barrel. After the shot is fired, the couple open their eyes fearfully. A child come around the corner behind him, causing him to turn around momentarily. He stuffs his gun in the front of his pants, giving a wicked look and walks back out, patting the kid on the head. It was that day that made him the man he is and the other man will forever think about what it means to take a life.

Beautiful Music! 5/5 10/10

Nice..

sweet string of notes. though, even as awesome as it is, and it is for sure, i wonder when electronica will get over the quarter-note kick and half-note snare. Unfortunately, quite a bit of other music on the radio is switching to that, as if it'll stretch to other crowds. Again, awesome song! Should belong in an intense boss battle, really

Great beats with awesome synth

Timing. Beats. Stretches. It's a great trance, though lost perspective a couple of times and changed too much, as if to be a totally different song in itself. Overall, quite tasteful

Sounds great

A bit of work to be done

Between 2:00 and 2:25, for example, sounds like you got bored with it and tried to change it up but it didn't come out too good.

each time, with the reintroduction of the piano, it started sounding good again. Overall, it has a sense of Castlevania to it and a really nice retarding at the end. it suited the end very well.

DreamEater responds:

thank you very much for your spot-on review,
you read me like a book here BurnSith ^^;;
maybe i'll consider a second version in the future >O<

First off, I live my life by the note. You dont have to love it, but then again I dont have to care if you love it. So long as it's satisfying people musically, and my friends do say it's good, then that's all I care about. I'm always up for criticism too
